Wood Watches by GARVINOES are the finest all natural wooden watches ever created. Hand crafted authentic wood watches

WATER RESISTANCE

GARVINOES watches are made with natural wood from around the world. We treat each component with tung oil to nish and protect the grain, making the watch splash proof, but not water resistant. Care should be taken to keep your watch from overly wet environments, or from being placed in standing water. Normal sink activities and getting in the rain are of no issue: showering, swimming, and diving should be avoided when wearing your GARVINOES watch.

IMPORTANT: If your crown is not securely pushed in and your watch comes in contact with water, it is likely that moisture will enter the case, collecting under the glass and damaging the movement.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

With proper care and maintenance, your wood watch can be worn and enjoyed for many years to come.

The biggest enemy of wood is sudden and extreme changes in temperature and humidity. High temperatures have the ability to swell the wood, causing it to crack. Exposure to a particularly cold day or night can shrink the wood, putting pressure against the crystal and pins which can cause breakage at these points.

Humidity control is also important. Too much and the wood will absorb water and swell, too little and it will dry out the wood and shrink. Swelling and shrinking increase the possibility of cracking, at the time of suboptimal conditions, and in the future.

HOW TO CARE

The best thing you can do for the wood of your watch is to make sure it is properly conditioned, which aids in protecting the wood from the elements. Use the following products and procedures prior to wearing your GARVINOES watch, and then again in 6 months to insure ample protection: Garvinoes Preserve Finishing Oil & Garvinoes Polishing Cloth

Use the easy applicator to brush the nishing oil onto all wood areas of your watch. With the cloth, rub the oil into the watch until no wet areas remain. Allow your watch to dry for 10 minutes prior to wearing.
